Turn to the light

I went and lay in the patch of sunlight on the kitchen floor. Long and thin, almost my size, only my feet in the shadow. The dog lay on my back. The cat lay on my arm. Flat on my stomach. Didn't even think about what that meant until now, until writing it. The pain is terrible. I feel sick. When I got up the dog licked away the small puddle of tears.

There are about seven black sunflowers in bloom in my garden. I'm going to go and cut one of them now and paint it for you, o light-craver.

Crying and crying too. It's good to hear your voice, though, dear tournesol.
